Shift your body!

Spring is a natural time for the body to shift from the slower pace of winter into a more active and lighter state. During winter, the body tends to store more fat, digestion can slow down, and people often eat heavier foods. As the weather warms up, our metabolism begins to wake up and the body is ready to detoxify and shed excess waste, water retention, and sluggishness.

Our bodies are built to cleanse themselves, but sometimes they need a little help. Instead of jumping straight into a heavy detox, I recommend moving in phases — gently, step by step — to get the most benefits and avoid feeling tired or overwhelmed. Think of this as a guided reset in four stages:

“The body speaks in symptoms, but nature answers in plants. Every season brings the medicine we need — we just have to listen and trust the process!”

1. Start by supporting your liver, kidneys, and colon.
These are your main detox organs — they do most of the filtering and clearing out. Give them a boost with herbs like milk thistle, dandelion root, burdock root, cilantro, and garlic. These help your liver function better, move out waste, and flush excess water. Drinking lots of warm water and eating fiber-rich foods (like greens and flaxseeds) can help your colon stay regular and clean too.

2. Move into a deeper detox.
Once your main organs are supported, you can go a little deeper. Now’s the time to flush out toxins, heavy metals, and even yeast or fungal residues that build up over time. Use natural detoxifiers like spirulina, chlorella, oregano oil, and activated charcoal (only short-term). These pull toxins out from deeper tissues and bind to heavy metals so your body can get rid of them safely.

3. Do a pathogen cleanse.
This step helps get rid of unwanted microbes like parasites, bacteria, or viruses that may be hanging out in your gut or other tissues. Use herbs like wormwood, black walnut, clove, and neem — all known for their antimicrobial and antiparasitic properties. This phase is super important if you’ve had digestive issues, low energy, or cravings for sugar or carbs.

4. Finish with lymphatic drainage.
Your lymph system is like the body’s drainage network. It helps carry waste out and supports your immune system. But it doesn’t move on its own — it needs your help. To support it, you can take echinacea, use dry brushing before your shower (always brush toward your heart), stay hydrated, and move your body daily.

And don’t forget — sunlight and movement are your best friends during this whole process. Getting natural sunlight helps reset your internal clock, boosts your mood, and supports vitamin D production. Moving your body helps everything flow better — your digestion, your lymph, and your energy.

If you follow these steps with intention and care, you’ll feel clearer, lighter, and more energized for the months ahead. Let me know if you want help building your own version of this reset!
